Our second workshop in Myanmar was at Yangon, run in cooperation with FFI Myanmar and WWF Myanmar.
The Boot Camp, held at the Regancy Office in Yangon from August 12 to 23, 2024, aimed to equip participants with practical skills in wildlife data analysis using R statistical software. A total of 26 participants from seven conservation organizations and students from KMUTT attended. The training blended theory with hands-on activities and focused on Bayesian methods, study design, and data management, concluding with a feedback session and certification presentation. The workshop’s interactive and practical approach made complex statistical concepts accessible to those with a background in field biology rather than statistics.
We had faculty and postgrads from Mandalay, Yangon and KMUTT; researchers from FFI, WWF, Nature Conservation Society (NCS), Friend of Wildlife (FoW), Marine Science Association Myanmar (MSAM), Myanmar Biodiversity Fund (MBF) and BANCA; and Freelancer.
